Description
The Apsara dance is a traditional form of dance that has its roots in Khmer culture and mythology. It was developed in the royal courts of Cambodia. Years of committed training and practice are necessary to become a proficient Apsara dancer. Students frequently begin their training in traditional dance schools when they are young, usually when they are 5 or 6 years old. The illustration on this mug shows how this important cultural heritage is passed down from one generation to the next.
