Description
One of the most famous battles recounted in the Indian epic Ramanaya depicts a size-changing demon who grows to gargantuan proportions and devours the opposing monkey army. A similar incident is depicted in the Cambodian version of the story, Reamker. This artwork represents the moment when the demon, dubbed Thabanaso in the Reamker, is wounded by the monkey king Sugrib, and the monkey army he swallowed appear from his mouth. This artwork’s design is inspired by Takashi Murakami’s ‘Superflat’ paintings as well as the popular Funko Pop! Vinyl Collectible Figurines.
