This original artwork was created using watercolour, gouache and acrylic on Arches paper. It depicts a scene from the Reamker, Cambodia’s Ramayana: the loyal monkey warrior Hanuman finds the kidnapped Neang Seda (Sita), wife of the hero Preah Ream (Rama) and presents to her a signet ring, a token of Preah Rama’s fidelity The painting draws inspiration by Art Noveau as well as the xiuxiang hua style of the acclaimed Chinese illustrator Lu Yanguang.
