Description

According to legend, Cambodian are ‘born from the Naga’. The Naga in the artwork thus symbolizes both Cambodia and its people. The heart represents the friendliness and warmth of the khmers, and the recognizably Cambodian elements surrounding the Naga, and also perched on its back, suggest a land rich in mythology, nature and history. In adopting the playful psychedelic style of Heinz Edelmann (art director of the 1968 Beatles’ animated film Yellow Submarine), I hope to present a fresh image of the Kingdom of Wonder as a place bursting with opportunity and vitality.
